Kathi is a Senior Consultant at Spring Impact with over 12 years of experience across philanthropic grantmaking, government policy and frontline implementation in Africa, Asia, the Pacific and the UK.
Before joining Spring Impact, Kathi was Investment Director at the Global Innovation Fund, where she co-managed a USD 45m+ portfolio of evidence-based and scalable innovations across gender equality, youth, education, health and climate, and co-led the gender equality strategy and portfolio, transforming it to become majority locally-led with incredible innovators on track to impact benefit over 44m women and girls across Africa and Asia.
Earlier in her career, Kathi worked as an Economist at DFID (now the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, FCDO) across trade and humanitarian policy, including co-championing humanitarian cash programming as part of the Grand Bargain, one of its most successful reform commitments. She also gained frontline delivery experience at Beam, a social enterprise supporting homeless people into training and employment, and began her career as a research consultant at ODI, where she co-authored the most read report of 2014 on chronic poverty, before serving as an ODI Fellow embedded at the Ministry of Finance in Vanuatu, delivering public financial management support and assisting recovery efforts following Cyclone Pam.
Kathi holds an MSc in Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a BSc in Economics and Political Science from the University of Birmingham. She serves on the board of the Gender and Development Network and as a judge for several leading social innovation awards.
